2017 Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - Entry # 3

I'm whipping in with one last entry for the 2017 Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop while I have a few moments spare....

I don't usually make many cards with an 'Autumn' theme but have loved getting all the fall colours together with my inks and pencils. Maybe now I have a few more colours to choose from it makes it more enjoyable!!

For this final entry I really wanted to create a one-layer design and knew which stamp sets would be perfect:

This was so much fun to make and love all these warm colours together. And the details in those leaf stamps are fantastic!!

Firstly I stamped the cup and saucer image with black ink and then the sentiment above it. That way I was able to stamp all the leaves around them. I used my MISTI to stamp all the leaves 2 or 3 times each, which took a bit of time but I wanted to make sure I got really good coverage with the ink colours. I used Altenew 'Dark Chocolate' for the brown leaves and all the brown leaf vein details. The other leaves were all stamped in Hero Arts 'Soft Cantaloupe' and 'Soft Vanilla', and Altenew 'Peach Perfect'.

Once I was happy with the leaves I coloured the cup and saucer with my Faber Castell pencils. Normally I would add some sequins but I felt there was already so much going on with this card, it didn't need anything else.

The leaves are all from Hero Arts 'Let Love Grow' and the cup/saucer and sentiment are from Waffle Flower 'Warm Wishes'.

I've got three other challenges I would like to enter:

AAA Card Challenge # 99

The Cat's Pyjama's Tuesday Challenge # 339

A Blog Named Hero - September Challenge

Dave has just left to pick up our pizza so I better get a move on. Even though I haven't been gardening this week I've still been so busy catching up on housework and other jobs. Has been rather nice though being home on my own but I'm rather desperate to get my hands covered in dirt again!!

Take care

2017 Fall Coffee Lover Blog Hop - Entry #2

Its still raining.....We are now on to Day 7 of rain which has turned the lawn and gardens into muddy mush. Although the lawns are all super long and I can see the weeds sprouting before my eyes the little devils!! So all this extra time on my hands has resulted in another entry for the 2017 Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!
For this card I wanted to use some different stamps but turn them into an 'Autumn' theme using fall colours:

This stamp set is so cute and I wasn't sure if it would look right with the leaves and flowers being coloured this way but I'm so in love with how it turned out!!

I started off by stamping the two floral patterns on the card front and colouring them using my Faber Castell pencils. I then stamped the bear image and the cup on some white CS, coloured with my pencils and fussy cut out. The cup was put on foam tape over his hands and he was then popped up on some foam tape as well. The sentiment was simply stamped on the card front with black ink and I added some co-ordinating sequins.

The floral, bear and cup images are from Waffle Flower 'Bear and Bird'. The sentiment stamp is from Altenew 'Coffee Love' and the sequins from Neat and Tangled.

I have four other challenges I would like to enter:

Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge (Pop it Up)

AAA Card Challenge # 99

Stamplorations Summer CAS Challenge

The Cat's Pyjama's Tuesday Challenge #339

I've got one more coffee card to enter (so excited that I managed to make 3 this time!!) but need to work out whats happening for dinner first. Although quite often Friday night turns into Pizza Hut night which I don't mind at all. In fact don't you think Pizza would be lovely on a cold, rainy evening...??? I'm sold!

Take care

Reminder: Time Out Challenge # 92

Hello there from a very wet Blenheim, New Zealand!! We had one day of reprieve yesterday from four days of constant rain and now its back for the next few days. Talk about Spring madness!!

I'm popping in with a reminder about our current TIME OUT  challenge where we have these words to inspire you:

Paint The Flying Spirit Of The Birds Rather than its Feathers

A rather fabulous phrase don't you think!! You can use anything from this phrase to inspire you i.e. a single word, the meaning of a word or how your inspired by what the phrase means etc.

We are also very excited to have Happy Little Stampers as the Sponsor of this challenge and the winner will get a $15 gift voucher!!

For my card the words 'Birds' and 'Feathers' really caught my eye so I really wanted to have them feature in my design:

I've had this stamp set from Rosies Studio for years and I think this is the first time I've used it. And it couldn't be more perfect!!

I started off by stamping the single feather image randomly on the card front using grey ink to create a background. Because the phrase talked about not painting a birds feathers I wanted them to be grey and uncoloured.

The bird image was stamped on white CS and coloured with my Faber Castell pencils. For some reason I just wanted to use blue and teal on the bird and just made up the pattern as I went along. Kind of reminds me of a Hummingbird or Kingfisher. I fussy cut it out and added foam tape to its back.

For the sentiment I found some light grey CS and die-cut using a a die from MFT Stamps 'Blueprint 27' to give it a fishtail look on one end. This was adhered to the card front and the bird over top on its foam tape. And I found some pink, teal and clear sequins from Neat and Tangled to finish it off!!

I have two challenges I would like to enter:

Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge (Pop it up - like my bird on foam tape)

Stamplorations Summer Theme and Sketch Challenge
